Hola!

Students reviewed plate tectonics and mapped the locations of earthquakes and volcanoes around the world.  The class then discussed relationships between these events and the location of the occurrences on earth. Students then used this knowledge to research a historical earthquake and share information on a poster. Students will finish the poster next block period.

Today:  Students completed metamorphic rock notes and lab today.  Then they began to process information about igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks to get a clearer idea of how the rock cycle works.

Today:  Students reflected on the similarities and differences between igneous and sedimentary rocks.  Then they took a Sedimentary Quiz on Schoology. Students also received a permission slip for the upcoming Weather Day field trip.

Today: Students researched a mineral and began to create a short presentation.  Students had to include an advertisement for their mineral.  The rubric is on Schoology.
